Basement Bathroom Vanity Update

The basement bathroom was feeling “blah” and I wanted to add some color. Lucky/not so lucky for me the paint from when I had painted the cabinets black a while back was peeling off. I didn’t exactly take the time to properly paint the vanity. It was a quick fix and I skipped a few crucial steps. This time around I was able to properly paint the vanity and add some color.

After removing all the peeling paint from the vanity I took a sanding block with a medium grit and scuffed the surface of the vanity so the paint would properly adhere to the vanity surface.

Then I took extra precautions by painting the vanity with an oil based primer. I used Zinsser Cover Stain Primer.

One the primer dried I painted the vanity with Behr Shimmering Pool P440-1.

I applied a few coats and then sealed it with a clear satin furniture seal – Minwax Polyacrylic Protective Finish.
