Here’s what the wall looked like back in October:
And here’s what it looks like now:
Ok, so here’s the thing about this mirror… I got it for free, and there is a reason it was free. Jake was doing a delivery and the mirror was among some of he things that the owner was going to trash, so as usual Jake called me & asked if I wanted it, which of course I did. It was supposed to sit on top of a dresser that I didn’t have but I knew I could find a good home for it. When he dropped it off, it was super dirty, and after cleaning it off I noticed that the “dirt” on the mirror was actually just a permanent film from the mirror being old & aging. I decided to paint it anyways and distress it because I figured it would tie in with the distressed look we were planning on going for throughout the house.
I sanded the frame of the mirror down, taped it off and painted it with Valspar white semi gloss paint, then used sand paper to distress it once it had dried.
Despite the fact that the mirror itself was dingy it actually turned out great and looked awesome above the bench in the entry room!
